Quick Wins
Quick Wins are small flexible grants for local people and organisations to do something which will have a positive effect in the community or improve the lives of residents. Grants of up to £500 are available to anyone who lives in the Big Local Gateshead area, or wants to do something good for local people. It can be as big or as small as you like.
Previous Quick Wins have been used to launch new community projects, they’ve helped small clubs pay for new tools and equipment, and even enabled local people to get life-changing training. One of our successful applicant’s said:
“In December 2019 I was awarded Quick Win funding, the money paid for the childcare I needed to attend electrical work experience to increase my chances of finding work as an electrician. Last week I was offered a fully paid position as a trainee electrician with a commercial construction company - the dream is soon to become a reality and I can't thank you enough!”
You can make an application to our Quick Win scheme below, but if you would like to talk your idea through first or need any help filling out your application you can contact us by email at hello@BLgateshead.org.uk
Once you’ve completed the application we’ll organise a panel of local residents to sit down with you and ask you about your Quick Win. It’s an informal chat so that the volunteers involved at Big Local Gateshead can get to know more about you and your idea, and offer any extra advice or support they think you might benefit from.
We aim to complete the process within 30 days from receiving your application. If you’re successful we will need to pay your Quick Win into a bank account, and if you’re representing an organisation we might need to see your most recent annual accounts.
